Frequently Asked Questions

 General

  • ProducKIDvity is a combined childcare academy and co-working space offering childcare for ages 0-5.

  • Our packages depend on the number of days per week that your child attends and whether you have a desk or an office space with us. Please view our tuition packages here

  • We require 45 days written notice upon deciding to end either your childcare and/or office arrangement with us.

  • We currently have our building structured to have co-working on our top floor and our childcare programs on our main floor. Ensuring productivity for parents was a must, therefore we do not allow random check-ins and interruption throughout the day.

  • No. Our building is highly secure to ensure the safety of our community. All parents and co-workers have security fobs that are programmed with various access levels depending on need. We also have a large, locked gate in our outdoor area to prevent any disruption or entrance from the public.

Childcare

  • Yes, we are fully licensed through the Province of British Columbia and Interior Health.

  • We offer childcare spots from newborn up until 5 years of age (or until your child attends Kindergarten).

  • ProducKIDvity provides a child-led, play-based approach to curriculum and incorporates the 4 core areas of early learning from the B.C. Ministry of Education's Early Learning Framework. We structure our days based on consistent routines, small group activities, and outdoor time and exploration.

  • We maintain all ratios as guided by the Community Care and Assisted Living Act. This includes 1 educator for every 4 students in our under 3 programs and 1 educator for every 8 students in our over 3 programs.

  • Sleep, rest and quiet times are healthy parts of a child's day and are important for physical and emotional health and well-being. Staff will change the sleep and rest time for each child based on the needs of the child and their family. Infants have individualized rest schedules and may sleep as long as they need.

ProducKIDvity follows the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada for infants in cribs which includes using a firm mattress with a fitted sheet. Soft toys, soft bedding and thick blankets are not used at ProducKIDvity in The Little Cherries, Ogopogo 1 and Ogopogo 2 Programs.

If your child requires an extra blanket, please ensure that it is lightweight and breathable for these programs. Sleep sacks are not permitted for children who are utilizing a cot, for safety reasons.

Toddlers and the children in the 3-5 programs have a rest time each day after lunch. Children who do not need sleep during the day will be offered alternative quiet activities such as puzzles, colouring and quiet games.

Children who are no longer on a napping schedule are still required to rest on a bed for 30 minutes.

Health and Safety

  • See our illness policy here.

  • As a childcare facility, we are very strict with our cleaning and maintenance of our facilities. We regularly disinfect surfaces throughout the day and have a professional cleaning team that comes in each night to do a deep clean of our space. In addition, we also have UV light filters on our HVAC systems to help keep our air pure and clean.

  • No nuts (peanuts or tree nuts) are allowed in any food eaten in classrooms.

If your child has any allergies (food or other), please be sure to fill out the included Anaphylaxis Response Plan.

  • Protocol differs from centre to centre, however, each emergency plan has been reviewed and approved by Licensing Direct through Interior Health. If you would like to see a copy of your facility’s emergency plan, please request this from your Director.

Co-Working

  • No! As we are fully licensed, parents are permitted to come and go throughout the day as they please.

  • No! We have specific co-working spaces available for those who do not wish to utilize childcare.

  • If your package was offered to you as a combination package, deciding to leave your co-working space could result in the loss of your childcare space. This is situation dependent and priority is given to parents wishing to access all of our services.
