Welcome Back: Reintroducing Charlene, Our Vice President of Childcare Experience

We’re so excited to welcome back Charlene, our Vice President of Childcare Experience, from maternity leave!

For many of our families, Charlene has been a familiar face and an important part of ProducKIDvity’s journey from the very beginning. And for families who may be newer to our community, we wanted to take a moment to reintroduce her, share a little about her role, and talk about the perspective she’s bringing back after becoming a new mom herself.

Growing With ProducKIDvity

Charlene’s journey with ProducKIDvity began in 2022 when she joined as a Director and helped open our very first location.

“Being part of that foundation was a defining experience for me,” she shares. “Helping bring the vision to life, building the initial team, and shaping the culture and standards that would guide everything that followed.”

Since then, she’s helped support the opening of three additional locations and has overseen all four centres as ProducKIDvity has continued to grow.

Over the years, her experience in childcare has continued to deepen, but one thing has always stayed at the centre of her work: relationships.

“One of the most meaningful parts of this work is recognizing that every child and every family brings something unique, and that uniqueness is what makes this work so fulfilling.”

What Does Her Role Look Like?

As Vice President of Childcare Experience, Charlene’s focus is on shaping the overall experience for children, families, and educators across all ProducKIDvity locations.

“My role is really about serving as both a leader and a partner in each family’s journey with us,” she explains. “I want every child to feel safe, supported, and genuinely excited to learn each day.”

She works closely with educators and leadership teams to ensure programs are thoughtful, consistent, and always evolving. From curriculum and classroom environments to team support and professional development, her role touches nearly every part of the childcare experience.

Charlene also oversees enrollment, which often means she’s one of the first people families connect with when beginning their childcare journey.

“Supporting families through that initial step, answering questions, and helping them feel confident in their decision is something I really value,” she says. “I want every family to feel welcomed and supported right from the start.”

What Matters Most

When asked what’s most important to her when it comes to childcare and leadership, her answer is simple: trust.

“What matters most to me is children feeling safe and valued, families feeling confident in our care, and our team feeling supported,” she says. “When educators feel empowered and respected, that energy naturally carries over to the children.”

That people-first mindset is part of what continues to shape the culture across all ProducKIDvity locations and why so many families feel such a strong sense of connection within our community.

A New Perspective Through Motherhood

During her maternity leave, Charlene experienced childcare from an entirely new perspective — as a mom.

“I’ve learned firsthand what it truly feels like to trust someone else with your child’s care, and how deeply emotional and meaningful that decision is for families.”

She shares that becoming a parent gave her an even deeper appreciation for the small moments that matter most.

“How much comfort comes from consistency, kindness, and knowing your child is not just cared for, but genuinely seen and understood.”

Her time away also deepened her empathy as a leader and strengthened her sense of purpose in the work she does every day.

“I’m coming back with a renewed sense of purpose, and a stronger commitment to creating an experience that I would trust for my own child.”

What She’s Most Excited About Returning To

After time away, Charlene says what she missed most was the everyday connection with children, families, and educators.

“I’ve truly missed being part of those everyday moments — the laughter, the learning, and the little milestones that happen each day.”

She’s especially excited to reconnect with educators, continue supporting their growth, and help create environments where both children and staff feel valued and supported.

On a personal level, she’s also excited to bring her new perspective as a parent back into her role.

“It’s made this work feel even more meaningful, and I feel a strong sense of purpose in returning to a space where I can help create experiences I would trust for my own child.”

Looking Ahead

As she returns, Charlene’s focus is on continuing to strengthen the childcare experience across all ProducKIDvity locations, for both families and educators alike.

Some of the areas she’s especially focused on include:

  • Strengthening consistency across all centres

  • Continuing to invest in educator training and mentorship

  • Deepening communication and connection with families

  • Creating welcoming, supportive enrollment experiences

  • Continuing to evolve programs in thoughtful, child-centered ways

“At the end of the day, my role is about creating something truly meaningful,” she says. “A place where relationships are strong, the sense of community is real, and families feel not only confident in our care, but genuinely proud to be part of what we’re building together.”

We are so happy to have Charlene back and can’t wait for both new and returning families to reconnect with her throughout our centres. 💛
